General Discussion
Cardio-auditory Syndrome is a rare disorder characterized by deafness at birth, fainting spells and prolonged intervals of electrical activity in the ventricles of the heart (prolonged QT) causing seizures and a fast, uneven heartbeat (ventricular fibrillation). Physical activity, excitement or stress may trigger the onset of these symptoms. Cardio-auditory Syndrome is usually detected during early childhood and is inherited as an autosomal recessive trait.
