  • I was recently asked to create this effect . The best way, I thought, to interpret this was to create a TV Wall tutorial which basically uses the same effect. Ever been to Future Shop or another large warehouse electronics store? Have you noticed the large wall of more than 50 TVs? Well let's create one, except let's showcase one picture with all the TVs. If you have your own TV, computer monitor or other type of framing device, feel free to use that. The image size used for this has to be large, we'll be making a wall 3 TVs high and 2 TVs wide. Position the original TV at the bottom left corner of the document. Label your layers accordingly. If you have the PSD all this has been done for you.

  • Select the Rectangular Marquee Tool ( ) from the Toolbar, drag out a selection in the center of the TV. Choose Select>Inverse from the main menu to invert the selection, now click the Add Layer Mask button at the bottom of the Layers palette. You layers palette should you look like this:
  • Select the original layer, grab the Move Tool from the Toolbar ( ). Hold down Alt and Click + Drag the original TV to the right, repeat this until you get an wall of TVs like the one shown to the left.

  • Find a photograph large enough to be placed behind all the TVs, I chose a picture of Jennifer Lopez. Place it behind all the TV layers. Select the Magic Wand Tool ( ) from the Toolbar. Make sure that the photograph behind all the TVs is invisible.(Click the eye icon next to the layer) Shift + Click inside each of the TVs to activate their transparency masks. Select the photograph, make it visible and press Ctrl + C to copy that selection of the photograph, now press Ctrl + V to paste that selection.   Position the new pasted layer within the TV frames so they line up right.

  • Delete the original photo, or make it invisible to view the results. Now you have a TV wall portraying one picture, cool huh?

    Congrats, you're done!
