Story Line:
Adnan Sami composes for the first time for the T-Series production 'Lucky- No Time For Love'. The film is directed by debutant duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru (who came to prominence with their 'Kaanta Laaga' video). After 'Tera Chehra' the expectations from Adnan were sky high and he is up to the task with 'Lucky-No Time For Love'.

'Jaan Meri Jaa Rahi Sanam' the opening romantic duet is very classy and conveys a lot of feeling. The vocals by Udit are good but Anuradha falters despite Sameer's beautiful lyrics. When the song ends you want to reach out for the repeat button and hear it yet again.

'Sun Zara' carries the mood forward and Sonu does a good job though a tad more experimental than needed. The arrangements are good and the tune melodious. It's a good fusion of western music and Indian instruments, a haunting number. Give it to the forever-young Asha Bhonsle for lifting 'Lucky Lips' to dizzying heights, as her excellent vocals combine well with the western beats. The result is an intoxicating number that would have sounded plain mediocre with any other singer.

The 'Lubov Mix' version of 'Sun Zara' has Adnan Sami with just 'Sun Zara' as the lyrics. He plays around with the two words like only he can and laces it with Russian style music to give us a number, which would otherwise have been classified as a remix but it is too good to be called just that. The trademark Adnan singing is the highpoint of the song.

The 'Bolshoi Mix' version of 'Lucky Lips' once again has the dependable Asha Bhosle and needless to say it's another good track, though one feels the first version of ' Lucky Lips' was a shade better. Are we going overboard? The answer is "No".

The album does have an ordinary and disappointing track, or more precisely a duet 'Hum Deewane' and its difficult to believe that Adnan has composed it. To compound matters, it has very ordinary singing by Sonu and Anuradha. Even Sameer's lyrics are plain mediocre. It appears to be more of a filler for the album.

'Chori Chori' is a sweet romantic duet by Alka Yagnik and Sonu, which manages to get the album back on track. The lyrics are simple and innocent but still manage to carry feeling.

By far, the best number of the entire album 'Shayad Yahi To Pyar Hai' comes as a whiff of fresh air. Sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Adnan Sami at a level that many will just dream of, it will compete with 'Hum Mile Na Mile' from 'Kisna' and 'Tere Liye from 'Veer-Zaara' as one of the best tracks of recent times. The duet also has one of Sameer's best lyrics.

Adnan concludes the album (Only on the CD) with another classy rendition of 'Sun Zara'.

Beyond the shadow of a doubt, 'Lucky- No Time For Love' will be your most precious musical acquisition for this year and rest assured it will scorch the charts in a short time and stay there for a even longer. Take our word for it.
